I’ll start with a food post, because it’s a topic close to my gut heart.
Mister Donut’s doughnuts. Mmmm. Lovely packaging, and the doughnuts are to die for. Literally.
Unagi at Nagoya. (I think). We had to wait a good 40 minutes before we could have a seat. And it was only 11.30am.
Angel Cream bun from a convenience store. It has fresh whipped cream and custard. So good, I checked back everyday so I could get my hands on another. I so did, on my second last day in Kyoto.
Me and roachz’s pit stop.
Oyako-don. Mother and child rice bowl (a direct translation, because it is a combo of eggs and chicken).
It’s big, and it’s good, although the soft-serves are better. It’s lined with red bean paste which goes well with the taste of macha.
Look for these signs for soft serves. Yum.
My most favourite burger—Mos Burger. So hot, so yummy, so… not available here. *sigh*
The food displays in Japan are too realistic. I caught myself almost sticking my hands on the windows of the displays at some point. This one here is in Gion.
Lovely pastries and sweets from Malebranche at Kitayama, North Kyoto. This one here is made up of chestnut cream + liqueur, mousse and cake.
And last but not least, lovely home-cooked food from Chen’s kitchen. There’s ravioli, Chianti Classico, baked salmon (not shown) with a touch of home-made limoncello, and bread dipped in fragrant olive oil from Italy (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, Chen).
