A taste of Japanese cookies

White chocolate cookie

Because T-boy’s boss is Japanese, we usually get a small treat whenever he comes back from his trips to Japan. This time, we had a white chocolate cookie from a special bakery. With only one to share, t-boy was gracious enough to leave me a bigger share because he knew how I felt about chocolates AND cookies.

White chocolate cookie crumbles!

The back of the packaging read: Shiroi Koibito, and it was from Ishiya Patisserie of Sapporo, Japan.

It was light and delectably crunchy, with a thin piece of white chocolate in between that gave off a sweet milky flavour. It was heavenly.

I wonder why we don’t see more of such lovely goodies over here, or anywhere else – the packaging is lovely, and the treats inside even more delightful. Unlike the stuff I see over here – the packaging may be inviting, but one bite and off to the bin it goes.
